There is now no legal requirement to wear a face covering to services. However in consideration for the safety of others, our stewards will wear face coverings and we ask you to wear one when entering, exiting and moving around the building, until in your seat for the service. Please feel free to keep your face covering on if you prefer. We will continue to use well-spaced seating around our large well ventilated chapel. If you have any concerns our door stewards will be happy to assist you.
Deaf or hard of hearing? Many of our sermons are now live streamed in British Sign Language. More Details >>
“Train up a child in the way that he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Our Sunday School meets every week at 9.15 am. For many years it has provided hundreds of children and young people with traditional Christian foundations for life.
We warmly welcome new children who are aged 4+ to attend our Sunday School and parents are very welcome to join them for a first visit. We try to provide a lift to any who do not have transport, and of course Sunday School and transport are absolutely free. Please contact us and we will do our very best to arrange transport.
Our society has largely abandoned the traditional values which were once the bedrock of former generations. Many today have no clear view of what they believe in or any understanding of the Word of God and what it teaches about the world around them and their own souls. We believe it is vital that children learn the timeless lessons of the Bible, its values and the life, teaching and saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
After 6 weeks attending children receive their own free Bible. At the end of Sunday School children are given a take-home leaflet, so parents know what their children have been taught. Once a month, regular attendance is rewarded by our Token Shop of free prizes. We also hold an Annual Prizegiving.
Our teachers, helpers and collectors have all been DBS checked and are governed by a comprehensive Child Protection Policy in line with Home Office guidance (this is available on request).
We hope to hold another Holiday Bible Club in 2025.
PBC Toddlers meets once a month on Thursdays during term time. Please do get in touch if you would like more information.
We use a modern series of teaching aids and illustrations to teach the timeless truths of the Bible. The Lessons for Life materials are used in Sunday Schools all over the world and have been specially written to teach a generation of largely unchurched children. Each week the main lesson is accompanied by visual aids and a range of other activities including singing, quizzes, memory work and special items that really interest the children.
Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
